Image Beaulieu Vineyard, 'Georges De Latour Private Reserve', Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, 1992 750ml $299
Medium dark-ruby garnet color. A more "earthy" wine, more powerful and structured than the 1991, with chewy tannins, meaty fruit flavors, and a strong, minerally finish. Hints of coffee and mocha from the new oak add dimension and spice, as well as a little sweetness.

A popular selection and from one of the finest California vineyards.

Image Beringer Merlot “Founders Estate” California, 2000/01 750ml $32
Black and bing cherry fruit is complemented by spicy qualities, notes of white pepper and even a whiff of cinnamon, backed up by a cedar and light caramel component that comes from the wines time in oak.

The wine is rich, deep and complex it is based on the best "Terroir" of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, similar conditions as Medoc of Bordeaux.

Image Hess, 'Select', Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, 750ml $35
Rich, ripe and focused, with balanced flavors of tart cherry and berry, herb and vanilla oak notes.

Image Justin Isosceles Proprietary Red Blend Paso Robles, 2002 (RP-93pts) $99
93% Cabernet Sauvignon / 4% Merlot / 3% Cabernet Franc Coming off the heals of the exceptionally rated 2001 vintage (93 points by Robert Parker/92 points by Wine Enthusiast/89 points by The Wine Spectator), the most recent release is predominated by a significant proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, much more than recent vintages yet still showing classic flavors of blackberry, cassis and coffee. The finish revolves around chocolate and French oak tones resulting in a wine that is ready to drink today but will also develop significantly over the next 10-15 years. The 2001 vintage sold-out quickly, grab what you can of the ’02 while supplies last.

Image Kenwood, 'Artist Series', Sonoma County, Cabernet Sauvignon, 1992 750ml $140
Marked by herb and cedar flavors, its currant and plum flavors are a bit muted and struggle to work their way through, but they do. The tannins are thick and chocolaty, with hints of currant and berry peeking in on the finish.

Image Livingston Moffett Vineyard, Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, 1992 750ml(93pts) $99
Aromas of blackberry and cassis are backed with a bouquet that has a touch of cedar and floral character. The flavor has an initial burst of concentrated blackberry with hints of spice and creamy oak. A lively fruit bouquet is expressed in a soft, medium to full bodied wine which ends with a long finish of soft, chewy tannins.

Image Richard Partridge Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, 2002 750ml $114
The Richard Partridge Story: Founded in 1998, Richard Partridge Wines are a sincere reflection of the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley. With a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, each vineyard is selected for it’s unique personality and exceptional character. Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaking: The 2002 Vintage is composed of two vineyards-- Stanton and Sacrashe. The fun begins in spending time tasting thru the aging process to determine how these vineyards complement each other. Production: 1,000 Cases.
Winemaker Bob Egelhoff’s Tasting Notes: Dark red, garnet color. Very complex, with great structure and alluring aromas of layers of rich blackberry. On the palate, these flavors form smooth layers that linger on the finish. The glass is empty before you know it.

Image Robert Mondavi, 'Reserve', Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, 1992 750ml $295
Dense and compact, with a tightly wound, rich core of earthy currant, cedar, spice and cherry flavors, finishing with chewy tannins. Great length.

Image Whispering Dove Oakville Reserve Cabernet "The Alter Eagle", 2002 $99
It is supposedly from a top flight Napa producer, but you?ve heard our rap on that kind of thing before. Some people will say anything to sell a bottle of wine. All that really matters is what?s under the cork. That?s why we?re all over round two. This is as exciting a deal for this price as the Waterstone is for that price level, which means it legitimately tastes much more classy, ethereal and expensive than it costs and, well, this IS the point. Really deep, perfumed blackberry fruit on the nose as well as notes of spice and vanilla, sleek, slippery, velvety, very distinctively Napa currant fruit on the palate, and everywhere along the way the wine hits perceptibly higher notes than any of it?s ?peers?. It?s fun to speculate on possible stories, but this negociant bottling speaks very well for itself. There are other stories we could tell, but we?ll save them in case we have to talk about it again. We think it will sell out, but we did buy a huge chunk. It?s a legitimate Napa Reserve for half price.
